Update to new library supporters
Information:
Website: Tammy Jo has created and will be managing the Friends website. It will have a lot of information prior to OHD and I will be putting new information often via the blog section. The present URL: www.friendsofwaterboropubliclibrary.org. and we are working to get fowpl.com shortly. In the future, updates like this will just be posted on the website.
Marketing : We have begun working with Kerry DeAngelis. She has created a 5×7 post card with a color picture of new library on one side and benefits on the other. They will be given out at OHD and I hope you will pick up some to place at your business or any other place you can. I would like them all over town. I would also be interested in your reactions to the list of benefits. Which ones are most pertinent and should be emphasized? Are there others that we need to develop?
Eaton Peabody Consulting Group: Representative Joe Wagner put us in touch with Patsy Wiggins and Eaton Peabody. They are very interested in working with us to make the new library a reality. Patsy Wiggins and Noreen Norton will be meeting with us on Thursday evening, July 9th at 7:00 in the old section of town hall. They will be listening to our situation and talking about how they might assist us.
Saco Valley Credit Union has pledge $10,000 for the new library and has given us the first installment of $2,000.
Clynk Bags These bags are available at the library and can be used to recycle returnable bottles and cans. They have a bar code so that the money goes into a Friends account. I hope to also have them at town hall in the near future.
OLD HOME DAYS JULY 10 and 11
The Friends of the Waterboro Public Library will have a presence at OHD. The model of the new library will be there and people will be available to answer questions about the new library.
We will have a 5/7 postcard, color picture of the new library on one side and a list of benefits we will get from the new library on the other side.
We have several items that will be raffled off.
1. We have two $175 gift certificates to the Maine Mall. One will be raffled on Friday evening and the second on Saturday. $5.00 a ticket
2. We have a watercolor painting by local artist Nancy Goddard. Tickets will be available until 8:00 pm on Saturday evening. $1 per ticket; 6 or $5
3. We will have balloons with prizes that will be sold. $1 per balloon
4. Clynk Bags : Recycle bottle and cans and support the new library:
We will have Clynk bags available with FOWPL bar codes. When you deposit them at Clynk at Hannaford, the deposit money is credited to Friends account.

There will be other printed materials to provide information about the new library.

It is time for all of you to go through your book cases and donate useable books to this sale. Drop them off at the library during working hours (check the new, unfortunately reduced hours). NOTE: Academic books that you might consider unsuited at a local book sale and other quality books will be sold by Bill Dunn via e-bay. He has gotten $40 to $60 for some graduate level books.
